Soursop and Strawberry Smoothies

A first drink recipe on Hayu Cooking! I got a large soursop fruit and strawberries from my aunt today. The soursop is really big, I think it weighs about 2 pounds. Soursop is called sirsak in Bahasa Indonesia, which the word is come from zuurzak in Dutch (sour bag). Do you ever taste soursop? It has sour and tangy flavour with an unique scent. My family always use it as a juice or smoothies. If you add just a little bit of water to it and blend it in a blender, it will has a thick consistency. Hmm fresh and yummy.

Dont forget to remove the soursop seeds. You dont want to make a noise when you blend it in a blender and you clearly dont want to have a seed bits in your smoothies. If you separate the fruit and the seeds, you will find that the fruit has mushy and fibrous flesh consistency. Which is perfect for smoothies.

For this recipe you exactly have an option to just throw all the ingredients into the blender and enjoy it. But because Im quite a visual person, I want to make it a little bit pretty by separating the soupsop smoothies and the strawberry smoothies then layer it in a glass. That way you will see the difference between this recipe and strawberry (only) smoothies.

This recipe has a summery feeling in my opinion. And for some of you who come from northern hemisphere and are experiencing winter season, doesnt mean you cant make it. Am I right?

Soursop and Strawberry Smoothies

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients

Soursop Smoothies

2 cups soursop fruit, seeds removed

2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk

1 tbsp granulated sugar

250 ml cold water

Strawberry Smoothies

25 large strawberries, sliced

2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk

250 ml cold water

Instructions

1. For soursop smoothies:

2. Blend soursop, sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and cold water in a blender on high speed until smooth.

3. Set aside.

4. For strawberry smoothies:

5. Blend strawberries, sweetened condensed milk and cold water in a blender on high speed until smooth.

6. Set aside.

7. Assemble:

8. Prepare a glass.

9. Add soursop smoothies for a quarter glass.

10. Add strawberry smoothies for a quarter glass on top.

11. Repeat step 6-7 until the glass full.

12. Mix lightly with a spoon.

13. Enjoy.
