Hello HayuLovers, Yulis here. After the first recipe from Hani, this is my turn to share another great and simple recipe. I’ve been busy with my civil engineering consultancy work and almost forgot to make a post for you. Please forgive meee. But trust me, cooking is one of activities that I like the most. It is fun and my way to relieve stress from work.
For my first post, I want to share my favorite recipe. You might like it, too. It’s called Butter Tofu Fritter. In bahasa Indonesia I call it Perkedel Tahu Mentega. The word perkedel is originated from French “fricandeau”. The Dutch call it frikkadel and they introduced this food to Indonesians in the colonial period. Because Indonesians have difficulty to pronounce the letter “f” (including myself, haha) then we call it perkedel.
This food is usually made from potatoes, but I substituted it with butter tofu. No, I don’t use butter in this recipe. We call it butter tofu because of its silkiness and creaminess. Yum. You can substitute it with regular tofu.
Perkedel is usually deep fried and please please don’t freak out. Well Hani would, though hehe. We can get extra crispiness and even color from deep frying. So you wouldn’t need to use oven.
Eat it while warm and this kind of fritters are perfect for appetizer.
